Sweet Little Feet

Is there anything more darling than a baby's foot? Sam was born in February so his feet were usually bundled up in a blanket or footie pajamas. However, any time they were out I couldn't stop myself from kissing them. Some of his first big belly laughs came from me pretending to eat his feet.

Grandma Barb bought Sam his first pair of shoes when he was four months old. We were going to my cousin Sarah's wedding and Sam needed to look his best. The shoes were size one and they slipped off his feet the entire day. The impossibly small shoes were too big for him!

Since then Sam has worn sandals, boots, and many pairs of sneakers. I have gotten rid of all of them but that first little pair of shoes. I recently noticed that his shoes were getting more difficult to put on and so we went to the store for a new pair - in a size nine. I got out his baby shoes to compare them, and the difference in size nearly broke my heart.

My little man is growing too fast.

Aww! How fast they grow! Seeing that about made me cry! I just packed up Grace's winter shoes and had to go buy a size 5 or "big girl shoe" as Grace calls them. So exciting for the kids and heartbreaking for moms!!

Sam's growing so fast! And before we know it the child size 9s will be adult size 9s and he'll be taller than all of us! Sniff, sniff.
