Last week, we got a turtle sandbox from some people who were just going to throw it away. I am always amazed by what some people consider trash! The sandbox is in perfect condition and we knew Sam would get a kick out of it.
Yesterday, Eric bought some play sand and we filled it up. Sam was apprehensive at first. He stayed out of it and tentatively touched the sand with his fingertips. Eventually he got in and he seemed very happy. He didn't quite get the shoveling thing but he liked picking up handfuls and watching it go through his fingers. Eric even introduced Sam to his first worm.
